Dental implant surgery can be really hard to deal with, especially when it comes to eating. Some experts cannot tell you what to eat and what to avoid after dental implant surgery.

After a dental implant surgery in Chester, you need to eat something that does not hurt your teeth as they are delicate at that time. The diet is different in the first two days and changes after a few weeks.

Here’s what you can eat after the surgery:

For the first 24 hours

You need to stick to a soft food diet for the first 24 hours after dental implant surgery. This would include liquid/ fluid items such as water, smoothies, soups, applesauce, etc.

You should avoid using a straw to consume these liquids as it puts pressure on your implants and delays the healing process. Moreover, you need to stay away from alcohol and smoking for at least the first few days after the surgery.

After a few weeks

As your jaw is still in the healing process, you can start eating solid food, but only the ones rich in protein and other essential nutrients. It will help you speed up the recovery, and you will be fine in a couple of days.

This diet includes eggs, chicken, fish, potatoes, and dairy products. All these foods are easy to chew and rich in protein, calcium, and other nutrients. You can mix your eggs with vegetables or chop the softer meats and add them to your salads.

While you can eat the food mentioned above, you should avoid the ones that may come into the way of your healing. These types are the chewy foods, crunchy foods, sticky foods, acidic foods and hot liquids. After you are healed, you can start eating your regular diet.
